11/29/04 was my first day with the new combo (new heads). i was hoping for 11.3 but i know new combo's take time to learn.
it was also my second time at the drag strip all year, so I was a little rusty.
I took the first few passes very easy, not power shifting. got a few 11.7's, but was spinning a lot (1.68 short time with 15-17 lbs in the ET streets 10.5).
I was thinking the narrow ET street was not going to work, but Durien run his 11.5 inch ET streets at 10 psi, so I lowered mine to 13.
that did the trick, but boy was it swaying on the top end. 1.59, 1.58 and 1.57 and then BAM!!!! broke the driveshaft where the cap is welded to the front section of the DS.
we think it was bad assembly so I hope it will be replaced for free. it broke at the weld.
i think those are pretty good sixty foot times considering i have stock springs with koni shox, skinny slicks, fairly heavy car.

DA was great; I heard about -1000 but there was a head wind. I'm guessing 10 mph but it got gusty a few times.
my best was 11.54 at 120 with 1.59 short time. I think the head wind hurt the mph slightly. i ataped my first 4 runs and no KR.

at that time, durien's best was 11.59, so I was faster than he was for a brief moment in time :)
but he continued racing, and the conditions got better, and he improved to 11.3 (with him driving). so I think my car could have gotten 11.3 as well.
but that is JMHO.
my car had full interior minus pass. seat and back seats.
I think I had the only F body there that wasn't a tin can. I was the fat cat. no scales though.

thanks cartek for making a stout reliable combo that has enough power to break heavy duty DS's and yet still get me home without a tow.

thanks rich for helping me get Alex's DS in my car (it was longer than mine, so we extended my LCA's to push the rear back 1/2 inch so the DS would fit).
